Weekend Cuteness: Pet Adoptions!

What a wonderful evening! My local library held a book sale where I found many titles I had been seeking out for one dollar each! I don’t even mind the grainy, rainy days in store. Last night was “date night in”, and I made whole-wheat gnocchi, steamed artichoke, and dirty martinis! That paired with old jazz records and reading my new books in bed made it quite literally a perfect evening at home.    (What was the best meal you cooked at home this week? I’d love to hear about it!)

That said, it’s already the weekend again! There’s a lot going on, and a lot to be excited about. It’s also that time of the week to oooohh and aaaahh over this week’s picks of local animals waiting for you to take them home! Without further ado:

Markie – Irish Terrior/Wire-Haired Griffon (Mix) Cause it’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, get it? Irish? Markie is lovely lady who quickly loves and bonds well with her parent. She is very smart, likely the valedictorian of the dog class, and is well-trained. She isn’t too fond of cats, but loves people and other dogs. Look at that smile!  Plus, you must click her link to watch a VIDEO and see those EARS!!! Trust me..  http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/11654410?recno=9

Skippy Pete – Pekingese This is one little tough-guy in glamour-girl hair disguise. He lost an eye (in ‘Nam? a bar brawl?) but that doesn’t stop him from being friendly with people. He doesn’t like other dogs too much, especially if they are bigger than him, but he would be thrilled to find a loving home. Maybe for Halloween you can get him a patch and dress him like a pirate! Merlot – Domestic Short-Hair A kitty named after wine? I’m intrigued! Merlot is almost a year and a half old, and is very playful and loves attention. She would love a home with kids or dogs, but she’s not too sure how she feels about sharing the cat-attention with another feline. Merlot has a nice long tail and perky long ears, and would love to hear you call her over to your lap! http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/14681938?recno=7

Gotti – Labrador Retriever This young little guy has a ton of puppy energy that will keep you laughing! He was rescued from a kill shelter in North Carolina. He would love to be adopted by a family who can him all of the attention he deserves. He is sure to grow up to be a fine, handsome dog. Frenchy – Calico “Bonjour, Monsieur… I see you!” What a pretty work of art! Frenchy looks like a painter took a brush and put gorgeous speckles all over her pretty white fur. She would love to join you at a cafe for a long, leisurely coffee as she prefers to take this slow. She is calm and quiet, enjoying the little moments in life. She loves people and loves them even more when they scratch under her chin. Click on this link so you can take her home and share quiche recipes: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/6143275?recno=3

It looks like it’s going to be a chilly, rainy weekend – find your favorite person or pet and prepare for what will likely be a snuggle-marathon. Have a wonderful and inspiring weekend!

  1. I read your blog everyday but I have to admit that the weekend is my favorite. All those little bundles of fur are a great way to start off a weekend. You are doing a great job. Keep the food, kittys, and puppys coming.
